Shower using the bathroom floor
I want to build a new bathroom in a section of my house that is slab on grade. I want to have a shower with no door and have the drain in the floor of the bathroom. How do I seal the floor to make sure no water gets under the slab and do I need to do something special to prevent back ups from the waste lines in event of a blockage down the line somewhere?

Since you are going to do a lot of floor demo and re-pour, designate a section for the shower, saw cut and remove, set your drain height for the correct slope, pour using red label concrete.
