Glass Blocks in Shower

I found this forum about 2 weeks ago and have been reading everything, it is so GREAT!! We are about to start a complete bathroom redo/expansion so I will be here ALOT in the future so a big Thank You in advance!
My question is: Doug I have gone to your site gallery and you have done some amazing work. I am particularly interested in the glass block window in the shower. We will be doing something like that but the dimensions of the window are 6.5 ft high and 18 inches wide. We are planning on using some sort of acrylic surround to cover the walls in the shower (for the economy and "cleanability") and are not sure how to incorporate the glass blocks as far as finishing and sealing. The window is already there, we are pushing out a wall for the redo. Could you help?

HomeschoolMom,

I welcome you to Do-It-Yoruself.com and hope you enjoy all that is offered.

Thanks for asking for my assistance but there are others here as well that can help, members and moderators alike. There are numerous ways to finish the walls where it meets the traditional glass or the acrylic block. All of which are easy. When it comes to showers with a window, I like to have the block flush with the finished intertior wall as it is easier to clean and less chance of standing water on a ledge. Silicone caulks or rubber vulcanized caulk work great for this
