My 40 yr old fiberglass?? shower floor pan - with brown & gold large flecks -is in need of refinishing. The walls are ceramic tile in very good shape. The tiles come down over the lip of the floor pan so I can't remove the pan. Problem - floor is ugly, and pitted. Is ther a primer and paint I may use? i was thinking of paint for laminate counter tops? Any experience/suggestions?

Upbeat,
Not sure what to tell you. Advice is to replace it but with tiles in good shape that is an issue.
Alternative, but it will cost is to have a new finish applied by a professional.
If you are not concerned about overall looks you could try some products at your local automotive store for fiberglass. Without the right equipment and experience, this will look like a "patch" job.
My advice is to do it right the first time otherwise it is money wasted.
Hope this helps!
