Question Countertop / Sink Clip question?

Just a quick question.
I have just installed a laminate countertop (from Home Depot), and have the sink hole cut out (for a 33x22 self rimming sink). The countertop had like a 1x3 support board(?) on front and back the entire length (underneath countertop), of which had to be cut into a little on both front/back. The problem is, the standard sink clips (ones that came w/ the sink) and the only sink clips I can find (kinda like a J-Style w/ a bolt) aren't long enough? They work fine on the right & left sides of the sink, but the front & back are too thick (support board + countertop) for the clips. Do they make a longer sink clip for this, if so, where would one start looking for them? Or have I done something wrong? Thanks in advance for any help!!

xtaziv,

Easiet thing to do, carefully cut out and remove the 1x boards and continue with your install. It's not going to fall apart in doing this.

Good Luck!
