Kitchen counter tops can be made from an endless variety of materials; laminate, solid surface, granite, engineered stone, concrete, wood, metal, etc. Here’s my word of advice. Though all these materials are different, they share one common difficulty. Dark colors. The truth is that dark shades absorb light while lighter shades reflect it. When reflective substances adhere to a dark surface it becomes easily visible do to contrasting refractive properties between light and dark. A daily layer of dust is enough to dull the appearance of a dark surface. If you’ve ever owned an automobile with dark paint and high polished finish, then you understand how much effort is needed to keep it looking that way. Now visualize doing all of your daily kitchen activities on that type of color & finish! People love the initial thrill they get from something so visually appealing. Keep in mind that when the thrill is gone you’ll may be singing the blues while trying to maintain that showroom appearance. My advice is to anyone making color choices is know yourself. Consider your lifestyle. If you don’t mind high maintenance and enjoy making a statement in your home, then go for it! If you are practical & resourceful and have young children or other priorities that require your time and efforts, you may be happier in the long run with lower maintenance colors and finishes. Final advice: Learn what to expect after the thrill is gone.

Does anyone know any brands of kitchen wall cabinets that come in 33" tall? All I can find is 30" & 36". Thanks
