cutting out section of countertop
#1

Hi, I want to move my fridge to the other end of my kitchen which means I have to remove a base cabinet and the countertop above it. Problem is the countertop isn't only over the base cabinet. It extends another 8 feet and includes the sink. I want to cut thru the formica from front to back and take it out. Leaving the rest of the counter. I know if I could cut the formica, I could finish the project myself removing base cabinet and wall cabinet above it. My Husband says it can't be done which means I am even more determined to do it! Please tell me how I can cut thru the formica. I suggested our Dremel, but DH still says, Can't be done! Help!

With a dremel, it would be an eventuality akin to gnawing through it.
At most big box stores you can purchase or maybe even rent a "skil saw" and a sawzall.
Remove the cabinet/s prior to cutting the top.
