Can my old laminate be removed

I'm in the process of refinshing my kitchen cabinets. Would like to know if and how can old counter top laminate be removed and replaced width new?

Welcome to DIY forums sccoffman!

Chances are the laminate is attached to the cabinets by screws (hopefully not nails). Pull out a drawer at the corner of the cabinets and look at the bottom of the countertop. You should see a bracket and screw. Remove all the screws and brackets. In addition, your dishwasher should be secured to your countertop. Your backsplash is probably glued to the wall. The countertop is pretty easy to remove but you may need help moving larger pieces as it is surprisingly heavy. Good luck!

As mentioned above... this will remove the entire countertop.. not just the laminate.....

If your old laminate is in good condition and not peeling/delaminating, you can probably get away with gluing a new laminate over the old using quality contact cement. If it is peeling/delaminating..... the only method I know of is to get after it with a stiff scraper. The old glue is surprisingly tough... and might cause problems......
