Paint vs stain
I was planning to purchase cabinets for my kitchen. And cannot decide if they should be stain or painted. I want them either white or a light stain, but I cannot decide which will show more wear. Any ideas? Is stain better or is painting them white the answer?

The paint will show more wear and dirt because it is uniform. The variations in grain can make some dings almost invisable.
I think it all boils down to what kind of appearance you want.

You should also consider the countertops and flooring when deciding between stained or white cabinets. If you are set on those they can dictate which type of cabinets would look better. Stained cabinets would hide dirt better.
