1980s Oak Cabinets/Tile counter tops

Help..am buying a home in WA state and the kitchen has oak cabinets, tile counter tops and parquet wood floors.
Need an easy/inexpensive way to modernize all. Want to place some time of tile in kitchen which connects with entry and office. Want an Asian influence..should I paint cabinets and replace tile?

Help..am new to forum and any input appreciated.

Then, I move on to sustainable flooring for the 2 story living room..
Later,

Oak Cabinets/Tile counter tops

I have the 1980's oak cabinets and with brown formica counter tops.

I am happy with the kitchen layout. The cabinets are structurally sound. Because of this, I plan to buy unfinished cherry door and drawer fronts and apply veneer to the face frames. I will have hinges attached to the doors. This way, I can get the natural cherry color and the pattern I want. Its a lot cheaper than buying and installing new cabinets.
