Question kitchen faucet aerator

I'm trying to install a portable dishwasher in my kitchen, but I can't seem to unscrew the faucet aerator from the kitchen sink. Is it possible that this is permanantly attached? What can I do if it is just off its ring?

thanks,

le piment

I think what Barry was getting at is if it is a rental unit, you may need to get permission to install the dishwasher adapter, and PLEASE don't lose the original areator, as you will have to replace it when you leave. I don't think the areator is permanently attached, as it would be counter productive in cleaning it out. Let's try something. Get a slip joint pair of pliers and a soft washcloth. Use the wash cloth to protect the areator's finish and try unscrewing it with the pliers. Be careful, but I believe it will break free with the first bit of pressure. Post back and let's see what happens.

Talking success!

Thanks for your responses.

I did exactly what you suggested and it worked! Turns out the aerartor does twist off, but was seriously jammed and required a large vice-grip to manoeuvere it.

My dishwashing days are done!
