faucet handles: cant take old ones off

faucet handles: cant take old ones off

my only access to the handle is the screw located behind the small chrome cap that has the letters H and C on them.once i take that screw out i still cant remove them. please help i really need to take a shower.

cheese62, Welcome to the DIY Forums.
Calcium deposits build up between the stem and handle and make it quite hard to remove. You can try soaking a rag in vinegar and wrapping it around the handle for a few hours. Otherwise you will have to purchase a handle puller. Similar to a bearing puller. About $10 at Home Centers. Good luck.
