Replacing Vanity top
I have moved back home with parents for a time after divorce and to help them around the house as long as they can stay there. I would like to update their bathroom and want to replace just the vanity top/sink and replace faucets with new hardware. Is this difficult to do? I want to paint and replace vanity hardware, that I know I can do. The vanity is still in good shape just ugly. I'm going with the pink tiles on the walls and tub surround and doing a "Shabby Chic" kind of look. I also want to apply white beadboard to the sides of the vanity. Any suggestions? I'm trying to this as cost effective as possible.
Thanks for any help!

Hello. Sorry about the divorce. I have been down that road before but the thing is that I'm getting married again. May 27th. Just around the corner
.
Well replacing a vanity is pretty simple. A little minor plumbing (maybe) to get the drain to line up. The only problem you may have is with a new vanity, the foot print might be a little different. If it is smaller and the floor tile doesn't go back far enough you will have a void. Oh make sure you secure the new vanity to some studs. Good luck.

Ummmmm
I only want to replace the top, the sink part...the rest of it just needs a little paint. Can this be done without ruining the cabinet?
No footprints to worry about this way

Take a look to see how it is secured to the cabinet. Usually the top is secured with some silicone at the wall and where the top meets the cabinet. If so, score the silicone with a utiliy knife and try lifting the top off.
