Cutting a hole in shower wall

I need to replace the washer on the hot water faucet in my shower. When it was installed ( cheap white plastic? angle shower) they cut the hole exactly over the stem. In order to use the shower wrench the hole needs to be enlarged and the dry wall (cement backer i hope) too. What type of tool should i use - my husband thinks Tin sips to cut through the plastic shower.

Hole in Shower

I would try a Roto-Zip tool with a drywall cutting bit.

I"M not sure what kind of shower wrench you are talking about, but if the nut inside the wall is a hex one, a deep soket of the right size, much like those used for spark plugs may do the trick.
