Converting 1/2 bathroom to full

Hello all. New to the forum so please take it easy on me

We are looking into buying a house which has a study and 1/2 bathroom associated with it. Next to the bathroom there's a closet. We would like to convert the 1/2 bathroom and a closet to a full bathroom (shower + toilet) but are not sure what the cost would be. I understand that nobody would be able to tell me exact amount that this conversion would cost, but at least some general idea 5K or 10K.

Your help in this matter is greatly appreciated.

Does the closet service a bedroom? If so, you can't do away with it and still call it a bedroom for sales purposes. Is there access below the floor of these rooms? Is there a bathroom above or below these rooms? Which floor out of how many floors is it situated on? I know it is a lot of questions, but we have to picture it in our feeble minds so we can have a starting place.

Larry, here's the plan of the house. We would be converting study and 1/2 bath to a bedroom and full (shower+toilet) bath.

Just paste the link and you will see the floor plan. (1st floor)

Thanks again!

It looks basically feasible to put the shower in the closet area, but still not too clear if you would be able to enter the bath from the new bedroom or not. Think about, too, the bedroom has to have a closet. How is the access to below the present bath area?

We're not really concerned about the entrance to the bathroom from the bedroom, we just need to convert the 1/2 to full, that's all. THe closet is a good point, but we would probably just take some area of the room and convert it to closet. Our main worry is the cost of the conversion. Do you think we can do it for a couple grand or is it more, closer to 5k?

Depending on where you are located, just adding a shower to the closet and leaving the remainder of the bathroom like it is, you could probably do it for around $4k, but it will depend on if you use a prefab shower unit, or use a pan and tile the walls. I am really more concerned with the mechanics of this plan, rather than the floor plan. Again, can you access the plumbing from underneath this area? If you can't, or if there is a finished room below, you will run your costs up substantially.
