Question raised laminate

My countertop got wet near a seam and a bit of water got between the laminate amd the particle board. It is completely dry now but the laminate is still somewhat puffy.

Would a hot iron [and just how hot] run over it melt the bolding glue enough to stick it back together again if a weight was put on it until the glue dries?

Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Ann,

I don't know what those who really know will say here, but I know that heat can cause laminate to bubble up. I learned that the hard way when setting a hot dish on my mother's laminate countertop. Maybe if they say you can do heat, you could put a thin protective cloth between a warm iron and the countertop. I would give that a shot and see. I don't think it could hurt.

As suggested above, there is a thin line between heating the adhesive and destroying the laminate. Should work, but keep a close eye on things.
