Range Hood safe distance from cooking range?
I recently bought a Jenn-Air 30" under-cabinet range hood to replace the existing one in the kitchen. The manufacturer recommends that there should be a distance of 24" to 32" between the cooking range (I have an electrical range) and the bottom the range hood. Because my new hood is 6" in height (as opposed to 4" in the old one), the distance will be 22".
Should that be a concern in terms of safety?
Thanks!

While the distance is not quite what the manufacturer recommends, I think you will be OK. There is usually a built in safety factor with all dimensions. Just don't do any flambe cooking.
