leaky toilet........

This is the 2nd wax ring in 1 yr i have had to put in ......the 1st ruined my flooring and sub floor....so i had to replace both.....my question is ...does it matter what kind of flooring is under the stool, I was thinking that instead of wood, possibly going with a harder surface such as ceramic tile...is this a good idea.....any info would be greatly appriciated......

Either your wax ring was installed incorrectly, or you have excess movement in the toilet. Sometimes the flange on the floor is set too high and the toilet wobbles slightly on top of it. This causes failure in the wax ring. Use a thicker wax ring and shim the toilet so that it is steady and doesn't move.
Plastic toilet shims are available at the hardware store. What the floor is made of has no bearing on the on the seal of the wax ring. If there is a leak, it will be detrimental to any subflooring material.
