Hey ya gotta give us more info than that. Hows this for an answer - maybe.
Tell us about your floor. What is the subfloor, material, thickness, how may layers? Tell us about your floor joists as to size, o/c spacing and unsupported span. What kinda cement board are you using. What kinda tile are you using?
Almost forgot - what kinda thinset were you going to use?

I am laying porceline on top of hardi backer. The subfloor is 2 layers of ply. 1st is 1/2", 2nd is 5/8". Joists are 16". The thin set is just one the guy recommended and has a flexible additive.

Without knowing the specific thinset you are talking about, you can use the same modified thinset under the hardi and to set the tile. Shouldnt be any problem.
