Painting Bathroom
We are remodeling our bathroom to sell our condo and my husband and I don't agree on something...
We are going to re-caulk around the shower/wall area because it has been painted over, it's bubbly and very sloppy.
Hubby thinks he needs to re-caulk BEFORE we paint, but I didn't think so. I think painting and then caulking will give it a much cleaner look.
What is the correct answer?

IMO, it depends on whether the caulk is paintable. Silicone caulk isn't and this is probably what you're using, in which case I'd paint and then caulk.

I always caulk the fiberglass/plastic tub surrounds with a paintable siliconized acrylic latex caulk. IMO painting the caulk makes for a neater looking job.
The 'bubbly' stuff might be leftover joint compound that was never cleaned off
removing this before painting will improve the looks. Generally water and elbow grease will soften it up so it can be removed.
