cracked in half... real marble vanity top
Can someone PLEASE help me? I purchased a well known name brand 2 sink/vanity/fixtures set knowing the marble counter top was broken in half. I was in hopes that I could fix the marble counter top that is cracked in half. It is real marble, known as "carerra" marble. In my estimation, the support (cabinet) for the marble is sufficient. I do not know how it actually broke. I need to know how to fix it, or if I really can fix it. Do I need to take it to a fabricator? What are the methods to consider for fixing it? Can I do it myself? I am a single mom, trying to raise my family in a rural town and get restablished and don't know what to do. The bathroom was in major need of an overhaul and I thought I could do this by myself, but may have made a mistake in buying this vanity. Any advise would be SO helpful. Thank you so much!

This could be a tough one to fix. Is it a clean break that will come together without showing, or is it chipped up along the top. If it's clean you can probably glue it with epoxy, but it's likely to show. A granite or marble fabricator would likely use a two part polyester adhesive which he could color match to the top to minimize it showing. If you're not concerned with it showing, use the epoxy and do the best you can to line up the two pieces. If one end goes against a wall, put it in place and push the other piece into it. Good luck.

If you just bought it and the cabinet is flat take it back. I would let my wife take it back since she is so much more experienced in returning things. Good Luck.
