Pros and Cons Regarding Copper Sinks
Hey guys,
I just decided on doing a bit of renovation in my bathroom. The first thing I want to do is change the ugly porcelain sink I have, it has black spots and scrapes all over (its an old sink).
Anyway I was looking around and I really like the look of a copper sink. Just wanted to know if anyone of you guys has any advice before buying one.
How difficult is the installation?
IS there a lot of maintenance?
And anything else I should know about will be highly appreciated.
Thanks
Jerold

As it's a bathroom sink - I'd go with porcelain instead of SS....
Keep in mind - all those fancy sinks of today will be "sooo 2000ish" in another 10 years. The classics might not be fancy - but they never, ever go out of style.

I did a copper sink years ago for a customer. It was something she found at a sale somewhere. It was a bear for me to get clean/shiney and she always complained it was a lot of upkeep. It gets black/brown before it gets green, if not polished regularly. If you decide on stainless, go with a name brand, such as Elkay, it will be heavy gauge and well finished. Cheap won't be.
