Need to replace toilet seat but no access underneath!
Extremely frustrated because I need to replace my cracked toilet seat, however I have no access to the underside of the toilet (where one would usually screw a bolt onto the nut holding the seat in place.) The landlord has built a wall behind the toilet making the area completely inaccessible.
The old toilet seat seemed to be attached to nuts that were wedged into the ceramic holes, however when I removed the seat, they fell to the floor. (Again, inside the void that cannot be reached.)
Right now the seat is literally resting in place, the screws poking into the holes but not attached by anything. Not fun.
Has anyone encountered a scenario like this? I can't seem to find anything resembling what originally attached the screws, only standard mounting kits.
I can only imagine (hopefully) there would be some solution for this, such as where prongs could be pushed through and expand underneath - but have had no luck finding anything resembling this.
I would be forever grateful if someone could give some advice!! Thanks in advance...

Toilet Seat
Your description of the problem makes no sense. Post a photo on Photobucket.
I have in the past used a mirror to see the underside of the flange where the seat bolts to the bowl.
