granite tiles over laminate ???
hello, good day to all.
i am wanting to update my kitchen counter top. i would like stone, preferably granite. since i will be doing this myself(i cannot afford to pay someone, i am pretty handy, and i take pride in doing it myself) i was thinking granite tiles, like 2'x2'.(any other options)
anyway, my question. the counter top i have now is in very good condition, and is very solid. instead of replacing this, i was thinking it would be a good foundation for the new tiles. i am thinking, glueing the tiles down and filling the joints with grout.
i figure i am missing something. so, can ya fill me in ?!?!
thanx a ton.

here's what we'd do,,,
15# roofing felt then staple expand'd metal lath ( 1 per sq " ) to the c-top & fill voids w/polymer'modified concrete ( SMALL aggregate ),,, that'll be a good surface for your tiling.
