Grout type
I'm installing a new tile counter top in the kitchen with a full backsplash. I have been told that a fine grout is best to use by one guy and that a course sandy grout is the way to go by another guy. Is there a definitive answere as to which is the best grout to use or are there pros & cons with each type. Looking forward to your reply.

Sanded grout on a counter top will be much harder to clean and keep cleaned, the unsanded and small grout joints 1/8" or less would be the way to go. These are cement grouts. You would also want to seal the grout.
You could also use a stain proof grout which would be even better yet and if you want state-of-the-art you can use epoxy grout.
Neither of which would have to be sealed.
The problem with the acrylic stain proof and the resin epoxy is that they are not friendly when it comes to heat. So if you are in the habit of placing hot pots and pans on your countertops you should stay with the cement grouts.
