Travertine tile in shower...

I am looking to re-tile my master bathroom. The tile that I am using on the floor I was thinking of putting in the shower as well. My question is, would travertine tile do ok in a shower? My concern is obviously leaking and moisture in the walls. Please advise. Thanks so much.

You can use travertine in a shower. Its done all the time. Major issue will be future maintenance of cleaning and sealing. A better choice for showers is porcelain. Porcelain will require little maintenance (regular cleaning)

My concern is obviously leaking and moisture in the walls.
Not sure what your concern is here. A properly built shower will not leak or have moisture problems no matter what kinda tile you use. If you are thinking that tile and grout are what make the shower waterproof, thats not the case.
