I am in the process of redoing my bathroom. It is an older house and the tub was installed in the corner of the room, with the angled protrusion of the attic stairs located from the corner of the tub wall halfway across the tub. I know it is a strange place for the tub, but I dont want to move it. I want to put some type of tub surround around the tub, but my options seem to be limited. Currently it is surrounded by that plain white plastic board. Which I want to replace with something more appealing. I dont think I can use a standard tub surround as I would either have to try and bend a piece to fit the diagonal protrusion or cut the piece and try and match it to the protrusion. I am not sure what I could use or do. Any suggestions for this odd problem, would really be very helpful. Thank you

I am in the beginning part of creating a walk in shower. and have a shower pan question but will try and get a good description of what i am thinking first. The room is 5' X 7', and was once a half bath off of the main bath. so all plumbing is near just needs a little rerouting, no big issue there. I intend on tiling the entire room as a shower. I know that tile itself does not ensure water proofing so i was thinking about the following process. the entire room cement board, 1/4 for the walls and ceiling, and after a pre slope of the floor, 1/2 in on the floor. I was going to tape and mortar the joints of the walls and I have some of the same compound used to seal foundation walls on the floor and corners so that they are sealed. would this be sufficient or should i look at incorporating some sort of pan in this? and, other tan building an entire mortar pan how would this be suggested to be done? any thing i can clarify please let me know.
