Question Replacing tub w/ 5 ft shower base

I want to replace my 5 ft tub with a shower base that's 5 ft. I know I can get shower bases with the drain in the same spot as the tub. But, what if the base has a drain in the center how can I relocate the drain? Any tricks? If I raise the base to give myself room to re-route the drain, now I need to build up the floor. The ceiling is already low (< 8').

This is in a condo with concrete floors and I need to do it in a few days. I have a logisitcs issue. This bathroom is in a condo I just bought out of state. I'm hoping to buy something at Lowe's or HD, possibly a plumbing supply.

tia,

With your situation, you may be better off pouring your own base around an expandable drain, then tiling the walls. Check in the search area for extensive advice on how to do this. One of our members, Heresjohnny, has posted an ideal site with pictures that really gives good insight as to how it is done.
