Bathroom sink backsplash install question.

Good afternoon all. I plan on remodeling my small bathroom myself and have a two quick questions. First, when I put the sink countertop onto the vanity, what is used to attach it? Second, once that is accomplished, I am having a backslash made(to match the countertop), how is that attached(to the wall or to the countertop). Also, what is used to attach it? THANKS MUCH!

The best way to attach a vanity top is a few dabs of silicone caulk, at the corners and maybe in the middle of the rails. For the backsplash, same thing. No need to cover everything with adhesive, a dab or two works just fine. Then seal the edges with a small silicone bead(smooth with finger) along the vanity/backsplash edge, and a paintable caulk along the top edge.
