Can I change the color of tile?

I 'inherited' 26 boxes of Daltile glazed wall tile. The tile is 4.25" square and almond in color. We just bought a house and are planning on renovating all 3 bathrooms, plus adding in another one (that tile will come in handy!), but I don't want all my bathrooms to have almond colored walls - can I easily change the color of each individual tile? I'm looking for a solid color here, not prints or anything complicated. Paint?? Re-glaze?? Specialty glaze?? HELP!

Hi carbca,

The short answer is no, you can't change the tile's color. The "special paints" tend to peel and you will be buying a problem.
You can try to change the color effect using other tiles combining with the almond tiles (borders, moldings or other accents)

And at a few cents per tile, it wouldn't be worth the effort to have a less than perfect result. But if you have enough tile to do the bathroom on hand, face it, no one looks at the walls of the bathroom in a critical manner. They're just glad to be there.

Or donate them to a Habitat Re-Store if you have one and use the tax writeoff to purchase some new tile.
