No Gap between tub and start row of tile

Just removed the caulk around a tub in a new rental property so I could redo it and the tile was installed with no gap between the starter row and the tub. Is there anything I can do or will I be stuck constantly re-caulking this? I'm assuming without the gap, the caulk won't "stick".

Thanks

Clean it thoroughly, no residue of the cleaner, and also dry it thoroughly, then wipe with alcohol. Use a good silicone caulk ans smooth to about 1/8-3/16". That should hold, since the silicone will move with the surfaces. Walls and floors move in different directions and the tub is mounted to the floor as well as the wall(usually).
