What can I do about this tub/shower?

I just removed the fiberglass shower inlay that was attached to this tub (see link above). My initial plan was to keep the existing tub and tile the rest of the shower area, but then I realized that the tub has a "lip" on the edge that will prevent me from making the wall flush with the tub. I thought about putting in a new fiberglass shower inlay, but I would really prefer tiling the shower/bath area (plus, I don't think I could even fit a new inlay through the door).

Any of the vets here have any idea what I can do to salvage the tub, or would my best bet be to just buy a new one?

What you need to do is shim out the wall so that it is flush with the lip on the tub. To do this take a 2x4 and rip off pieces maybe 1/4" thick or what ever you need. Don't make them any thicker than the distance to the lip other wise when you put on your cement board it will stick out too far from the edge of the lip.
