Acrylic vs. Glass Mirror

I'm trying to decide between installing an acrylic or glass mirror in my master bathroom. The mirror will be 36" tall by 60" wide and either mounted with clips or resting in a u-channel on top of the backsplash. I like the idea of having a light weight mirror (acrylic), but do not know enough about them to know if there are any drawbacks to using such a mirror (is it not as brilliant? does it flex more than a glass mirror? etc.). Cost is the same regardless of which type I get.

Acrylic can scratch pretty easily, I'd be hesitant to use it

Not too worried about scratching, I'm more concerned with the weight of a 60x36 mirror.

I wouldn't think the weight would be a problem if you hit the studs, the mirror in my bathroom is at least that big (might be wider than 60")

Problem is we will likely use some type of decorative clip and want the clips to be evenly spaced, which isn't so easy when the studs aren't located where you want them. At this point, I'm seriously considering an acrylic mirror unless someone can give me some good reasons not to. Don't want it to look like a funhouse mirror.

I can't help you on the acrylic, never seen one

What's the wall where the mirror will be mounted like? Easy enough to tear out the drywall to add structure where you want your clips to be

Tear out drywall?? Uh, no. Just remodeled and painted the bathroom. I'm not really worried about it. My main question is does anyone have anything good to say about acrylic mirrors??
