Caulking a shower niche?

Hey guys,

Been a while since I have posted, but was wondering if I should caulk a preformed shower niche, or is the tile grout with a sealer enough? My gut tells me the grout is not a truly waterproof substance, so caulk would be better, but just wanted to see what others thought........

Thanks for looking, and as always, appreciate that this kind of resource is out there for us diyers!

Scott.

Yeah, but some of us have to work for a living. Anytime tile or your niche changes planes, you would use a siliconized caulk preferably in a matching color to fill in the crack. Different planes move in different directions and will crack out caulk. With the stretch-ability of a good siliconized caulk it will keep that cracking out of the picture.
