Tumbled Stone Backsplash Color Change

We installed a tumbled stone backsplash and the color has turned out to be more orange than we originally thought. Is it possible to tone down or change the color somehow? We really to not want to remove it.

The only way to get what you expect in natural stone, is to select the stone yourself, and look at it in the place where it will be installed. Stone is like wood, no two pieces are the same. Lighting has a lot to do with how it looks after installed. Perhaps a different color temp lighting would help. If fluorescent, there are several color temp available. Incandescent is generally the gauge to which other lighting is measured.
