Regrouting kitchen tiles...but possible water damage around sink

We are in desperate need of regrouting the tiles in our kitchen (new countertops would be better, but we're turning it into a rental and dont want to drop a ton of cash!). The problem is one or two of the tiles around the sink have become loose and I'm certain water has gotten underneath. Can we just pop the tile out and clean it up then use some liquid nails to glue it down before rerouting or do we need to do something else? This whole project will be a first for us, so we are trying to keep it simple, but also want it to last. Thoughts?

Welcome to the forums! If the damage is around the sink area, I would first remove the sink to determine the extend of damage. You will have to remove it to replace the tiles properly anyway. Once it is out, see if the tile was laid on a bed of thinset alone or over concrete backer underlayment. If only plywood and thinset, you have more to deal with later. Let us know what you find when you pop the sink. You may only need to clean it up a bit and re-thinset the tiles in place. No, don't glue it with LN.
