Granite Bar counter in pass through window

This is not my passthrough but very similar. We purchased a granite counter that sits on the 2x4 runner with adhesion and sticks out an 8" overhang. What i ended up doing was ripping down the sheetrock and building up the two studs on each side of the wall with brackets and sturdier wood then secured it all together better to stop any wiggle. I then attached a 2x4 strut to the built up studs that runs from ceiling down to the top of the counter to help hold it in place. They are pretty tightly fitted down to the counter.
My first question is the actually strength of granite. Does anyone see the struts placed on the granite as a danger? Will they be too strong and crack it in time?

MY second question is when the rock goes back up we purchased 4 steel decorative shelving brackets. I was just going to install one equally spaced between the length. Should I install something under the granite between it and the brackets or just go straight bracket to material? I was going to placed soem uber strong double stick foam tape I have on it to help keep it together.

MY main concern though it the 2x4 runners on each end. After debating on it i just keep thinking of potential problems. We dont right now anticipate livign in the house for more than 5 years so hell if it lasts 6 im good lol. the toal size of the granite is 15" deep by 91" wide. It is also 1 1/4" thick

thanks

I don't think the 'struts' will cause a problem as long as there isn't any upward pressure in the middle of the counter, from any jacks that you may have installed under the 2x4 runner.

The brackets for the shelves can be anchored to the sheet rock.

no no jacks i can see.

After installation I checked with a level on the 2x4 run and then set the counter. For some reason it still looked like the middle was bowed a little bit upward. I filled the gaps on each side with adhesive and wood shimming to not leave any OPEN gaps. It was this center bow that got me a little concerned. prob 1/8 to near 1/4 inch on the sides. I tried to pull the counter off to re adjust the center but that glue is on there.

So far it seems okay. I dont think at this point there is enogh downward pressure from the struts to brea the granite. I am actually installing some extra studs under the counter to install the brackets too.

Thanks
odd, the site didnt email me to tell me i had a reply.

It should be fine. I don't ask for email notification.
