Can I use an existing field stone wall in my shower?
Hi everyone,
I was hoping you can help me out with this. I am redoing my entire master bathroom in my 273 year old farmhouse and I have demoed down to the field stone wall that was once an exterior wall. I was thinking it would be very cool to actually use this wall as part of the shower but I am just not sure if this is A) a good idea, B) possible to do due to water proofing, etc. Can someone shed some light on if this is possible and what sort of things I should do to make it water tight?
Thanks!

altho it would make for a unique and beautiful shower, it would be more problems than its worth. yes, it needs to be waterproofed behind the stone and no amount of sealer could keep it from discoloring or make it easy to clean. There are many types and styles of tile or dimentional stone that can be used in place of fieldstone to achieve the look.
