I love to paint. I've painted every single room in this 100-year old house in the 3 years we've lived here. I've even painted one room TWICE! So the last room on the list is the stairwell/upstairs hallway. I started working on Monday, and I just feel so defeated. First of all, there is wallpaper. So I had to remove that, which actually wasn't too bad. Then there was the residue left by the wallpaper. I had to sand that off. Now there is dust all over from the sanding. I learned that tack cloth is the way to get rid of the dust. So I'm ready to prime, and I take a look at my space, and wonder two things: ~ do I remove the chair rail and picture frame mouldings or tape around them? ~ How the #$@% am I going to paint the stairwell where it is 2-stories tall!??! I guess I thought I'd just use an extension pole, but how would I do the cutting in? There's no way I could use scaffolding. I'm a very clumsy 40-something mom. I'm feeling very discouraged, like I should just hang it up and call a professional. Any advice?

I am planing on remodeling my downstairs bathroom and those shower all-in-one units looked fairly attractive at one point.
