what kind of bit would you use to drill holes in a fiberglass reinforced acrylic tub ? The holes for the faucet...thanx c

I'm in the middle of remodeling my bathroom. I want my surround to go all the way to the ceiling in the bathtub. I'n order to do this I would have to lower my ceiling in the tub to 7'5'. I would then put on glass doors to have the bath look enclosed. The rest of my ceiling in the bathroom would remain at approx. 8 feet. My question being is this ok to do or will the ceiling be to low in the shower? I realize we are only talking 6 to 7 inches difference and I was all set to do this when someone told me it wouldn't look good. Most of the displays that I saw in showrooms were set up like this with a light set in and I thought it looked great, but after thinking about it I started getting concerned that the ceiling might be to low.... Thanks for any help you can give me.......
