Help wirh removinf outdated towel tack and toilet papaper holder

Just looking for some general opinions as I keep going back and forth... when we moved into our home 3 years ago, I replaced all of the ugly gold tone door knobs with nickel finish lever handles. I also replaced the bathroom vanity light fixtures with a nickel and frosted glass design. My question is: would it be strange to go with chrome fixtures in the tub/shower? I have installed a nickel faucet in the kitchen and in one vanity sink and the spots drive me CRAZY! I wipe them frequently but the spots are still there. I could write off the bathroom faucet as an inferior product (it was cheap), I am seeing rust around the base of the handles :mad: But even the presumably higher quality Kohler kitchen faucet has spots that I can NOT seem to remove with simple wiping. I hesitate to try too many things for fear of damaging the finish. It makes me feel like nickel is perhaps not the best choice given the condition of our city water supply (very high mineral content). Have I just not purchased quality products? I know some nickel fixtures seem to have a coating that probably helps resist spots... do I just need to spend a lot more on new fixtures??

It was suggested to me that the cabinet is coming apart from the wall and I should try to see if I can somehow tighten the bolts that hold it to the wall, but I can't really see where those are. OR, that I could use shims to lift the cabinet and press the back to be more flush against the wall. But If I try to pick up or push the cabinet it doesn't really budge. Any ideas?
