Medicine cabinet for 12.5 inch x 24 inch opening

I'm trying to replace a recessed medicine cabinet. I found a lot of cabinets that fit an opening of 14 inch x 24 inch but my exact recessed opening is 12.5 inch x 24 inch. Is the 14 inch x 24 inch listing on these the maximum opening size and will one of these fit in my 12.5 inch width opening?

My condo was built in 1994 and I'm just looking for a simple recessed mirror medicine cabinet.

I don't think that it's going to fit based on those measurements. Suppose you closed the opening & bought a cabinet that mounts outside the wall?

Only way to find out is to remove the one that's there now and see how it was framed.
There may be just a block of wood attached to one side of the stud to act as a filler.

Yeah, it does look like there is a piece of particle board nailed to the left side and I think the right side is the stud. I might just go with a flush mount instead of recessed instead of cutting into the drywall.

Contemporary/modern Vanity to fit a 33" space

Hello; As I am renovating/upgrading the small powder room in our house, I noticed that the old vanity/cabinet that I like to replace is 33" wall to wall. Do they make contemporary/modern cabinets that size. I have a hard time locating one in that size. If I was to use a smaller vanity size, how would I match and fill the gap to be flush to the walls? Thank you in advance. Ben

Hi all. I am finishing my basement and trying to design the bathroom. In the process, I am realizing how little I know about bathroom design. Does anyone have any thoughts or advice on these three layouts? [U][B]Any[/B][/U] advice, ideas, comments or suggestions are very much appreciated. :help: [ATTACH=CONFIG]29824[/ATTACH] [B]Details[/B] shower: 36"x48" (could change, if necessary) sink/vanity: 24x21 (could change, if necessary) The first diagram shows a 6" HVAC duct and 3 three inch PVC pipes overhead near the ceiling joists. Both interior walls can be bumped out between 10 to 15 inches if needed. As you can see from this picture, I couldn't wait to get started. Now, I'm taking a step back and trying to make a plan [I]first[/I]. :) [ATTACH=CONFIG]29826[/ATTACH] Without too much detail, here's some issues and thoughts on these plans: [LIST] [*]Some of the options require more below slab drain pipe changes than others [*]Some of the options don't allow future access to shower valves - is that is ever needed? [*]Fewest water supply pipes on exterior walls (freeze concern) [*]Future access to existing outdoor faucet could be blocked in some cases [*]Only 20" of walking room between sink and shower on options A and B. [*]Option c has the most "in front of toilet" clearance and the most open floorspace [*]6" HVAC overhead: should this be moved, or changed out to a narrower duct? [*] [/LIST] Option C seems best to me. Any thoughts, ideas, advice? Thanks!
