House front door entry directly into kitchen?
Right now my house opens up into a hallway, and right off the hallway is the kitchen. The hallway seems so cramped that I am worried it will deter future buyers when I sell the house. Also, I don't like it.
I'm considering removing the separating wall that creates the hallway, but that would make the house open up into the kitchen itself.
I can't find anything on entryways on Google other than the normal enters-into-foyer or enters-into-living area. Does anybody have a house that their main entryway is in the kitchen?
Here's a picture of my hallway:
- that's the kitchen entrance on the right in this view and it's on the left when you walk into the house. That other wall is the exterior wall/garage.

Not uncommon to have an entrance directly into a kitchen. I've seen others that the door is directly in the middle of the kitchen wall.
Here's my layout. The garage entrance is virtually entering the kitchen/eating area.

Yes the doors from the garage and the 1/2 bath interfere. I did that on purpose. Originally the bath door opened into the bath. Very constricted.
