Fiberglass/plastic shower pan refinishing process - duration

I have a Mustee 304.103 shower pan, about 14 years old. I am not 100% if it is fiberglass or some other plastic. I want to have it professionally refinished (painted).

How does this process usually work? Is this a one step spray-paint process? With a cleaning before?

It depends on the process and installer you choose. Better systems probably use a two part epoxy system. With any coating the prep work before applying the coating is one of the more important steps.
