Custom Shower Glass
Working on a master shower remodel. We are trying to find ways to cut the estimate down. The contractor suggested we use 1/4" glass instead of 3/8". We'll have a standard swing door (what size is that anyway???) and a stationary piece where there is a half wall. The length of the shower itself is 60".
2 questions...Is 1/4" going to be sufficient? Will I notice it feels cheap? Does a glass door have to hinge against a wall or can it hinge on a piece of glass?
Thanks

Whatever size you choose, it will have to be tempered, so $$. Depending on your glass set up, the door can hinge on other glass. The glass will need finished edges and a method of closure. Have you contacted anyone about installing the glass?

The contractor will do the install. He is the one who suggested the 1/4" to save money. I'm assuming he would use tempered, but I guess I should check. I didn't realize I'd need to.
