Bathroom Sink/Vanity

Hello. The house I am moving into has an old 50s style sink that I would preferably like to build a vanity around. Any ideas on this? Its a rental home so I would like to avoid completely replacing it with a new vanity. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Hello and welcome to the forums....

Im sure you can if the sink has a lip on it. Kind of like dropping it into a homemade cabinet..

You may have some gaps though as I am sure the sink is not flat around the rim underside..You would have to remove the legs though and towel holders. That would be a shame though.

What would be the purpose of a vanity opposed to what is there, other then storage?

The best you can do is build a cabinet around it. You'll need to be quite handy to this so it looks decent. Probably not worth it. You can buy a unit to fit under it. Won't be perfect but it will provide storage.

I'd talk to the landlord and see if they'll both allow you to replace this with a vanity and also maybe chip in some of the cost.
