Tile countertop layout
I'm tiling the bathroom vanity countertop with granite tile. It has walls on 3 sides. It's 64" wide and I have 12x12 tiles.
How do I lay them out?
I could put 8" pieces on either end and have 4 full tiles in the middle.
I could start at the walls and work my way in but I'd have more than one partial tile in the middle. That doesn't seem right.
Or is there another layout idea?

At 64", It would be better to start with grout line at the centerline and the cut tiles will be at ends. Like you said, about 8" on either side.
You want all tiles in the field to have a factory edge. Cut edges should butt up against walls and be hidden with splash.

I like to lay out the tiles dry first so I get a preview of what it will actually look like and then decide.
