Cover a kitchen window?
I am remodeling my kitchen and decided to cover the kitchen window. The kitchen window looks out the screened in porch and doesn't do much as far as bringing in light. Plus the door nearby to go out to the porch brings in the needed light. The window is small and over my sink. I would like to cover it up with a high cabinet arch but on the wall backsplash wanted to put a design or style since this is more eyecatching compared to behind my stove where I notice most people put styles.

I wondered that too. I was trying to think of the last time I EVER saw a sink that's on an exterior wall that didn't have a window. Generally you don't want to stand at a sink and stare at a bare wall.
I suppose a lot of apartments and motel kitchens are that way.
My folks kitchen has the same setup... a three season room outside their kitchen kind of blocks a lot of the light. I put 8 feet worth of windows above the sink (box window style, so there is a wide sill to set stuff on), plus a full view door outswinging patio door as the exterior door. Makes it feel roomier when you can see out.

I would say tile the wall, also behind the range up to bottom of microwave or vent hood.
But as others have said, I think it's a bad idea to get rid of a window above the sink.
I work mainly on kitchens, and no window is no good. Have you considered changing window to a garden window?

But the kitchen window is in the back of the house which looks out toward my screened in sunporch which overlooks the backyard which is a hill and woods. The curtains stay on it and we never open the window making it useless. A garden window would do no use. If it was the front of the house I could see doing it. Behind the range up to bottom of microwave or vent hood will be tiled but its a small opening.

People expect a window over the sink but it's your house - do what you want
it could affect resale value if/when that time comes. I'm an outdoors type person and prefer a lot of windows .... but everyone is different

IMO, a small window is better than no window. You can always replace the glass with some pretty stained glass, so if you did sell down the road, someone can easily put regular glass back if they want.
