install prefab shower curb
Getting ready to install a Noble shower curb over self leveling cement. Instructions say use modified thinset. Modified thinset instructions say prime slc (gypsum) first. Really necessary?

Take a step back please, You don't use self leveling compound in a shower set up and it would be a cement based slc if you needed to make adjustments. But the curb is not set in slc, it is set over the top of stacked 2x4's. The noble company says to add thinset to the inside of the curb before installation over the 2x4's.
Also, you can not just use slc over plywood or osb without first applying lath to the wood. Eitherway, give us a little more background on your install and plans to build your shower pan and mud bed. Pictures are also a good tool to get us on the same page. http://www.doityourself.com/forum/el...rt-images.html
