Removed silicone caulk from tile, can still see where it was?
The silicone caulk on my shower door was so far gone I decided the only thing to do was to remove the door, remove all the silicone, and start fresh (the silicone under the threshold had failed, for instance). I've spent hours removing the silicone from the wall tiles (razor scraper, mineral spirits, scrubbing pad; lather, rinse, repeat); I can't feel anything on the tile but if I look from the right angle I can still see where the silicone was. Is it possible that all the silicone is gone and the appearance of the tile is permanently changed? Or is there still silicone left that's going to keep the new caulk from sticking? Is there something else I should be doing?
BTW, I really hate silicone.
