About to tile around tub
I am just hanging my drywall now and I have heard two different opinions on the muddling part that comes next so II thought I would get some more opinions. I heard that I can tape the joints then use the thinset as mud and also start tiling while I do this. The other thing is tapeing and then giving it a few coats of mud. Just wondering what is the preferred method? Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forums!
Is this just a soaking tub or does it also include a shower? If the latter, you need to use cement board instead of drywall! If just a tub - how far up do you intend to bring the tile?

Tub or shower, as long as the tile is going to be more than a row or two, I would use 1/2" cement board.
